Abstract:

In this research, Composite Lattice Conical non-shell structures have been analyzed. This Analysis was done with the purpose of determining the stability of the buckling structure, before and after the damage caused by the lateral impact. Also, the results are verified by two numerical and experimental methods. In the numerical method, ABAQUS finite-element software was used for modeling and performing the mentioned analysis. However, in the experimental method, composite lattice conical samples were constructed from glass fiber in an epoxy matrix by filament winding using elastic dies and metal mandrel. Before the buckling and impact tests, modal analysis of each non-shell structure was performed in numerical and experimental methods to obtain natural frequencies and shape of their modes. Subsequently, each of the structures was placed under axial compression loading, till before lateral impact andresultant damage, the tolerable load maximum of the structure under this loading is obtained. Following, other samples were subjected to lateral impact loading, in the next step, axial compression loading applied to the samples to determine the impact result on thecompressive strength of the damaged structures. In the end, the results of both methods used in this study were compared, and the results of these comparisons showed that the lateral impact into each of the structures caused the reduction rate of buckling strength. Therefore, these results could be considered in the design of the applied structures.
