Abstract:
In this study, the performance of two photovoltaic cell systems, PV with photovoltaic + thermoelectric + phase change material (PV+TEG+PCM) system was measured experimentally for irradiations of 500 and 700Wm2 for a period of an hour and ambienttemperature of 35°C in a control room. The results show that by direct connection of TEG and PCM under the PV cell, it is considered that the rate of PV cell temperature rise is reduced. PV electrical power output variation in the PV+TEG+PCM system is less than thesingle PV system. The presence of PCM and TEG in this system mean the further loss of thermal PV cells. The electrical power output of the PV cell in the PV+TEG+PCM system increased by 49.39% for 2 500Wm radiation and 54.54% for radiation of 2 700Wm . Also, the electrical power output of the TEG by PV cell heat recovery for radiation of 2 500Wm and 2 700Wm is measured 0.19W and0.371W, respectively.
