Abstract:
Use of the photovoltaic (PV) system in distributed generation system has attracted more attention to the developments in power electronics technology and global environmental concerns; also it is constantly growing due to cleanliness, no pollution, abundance and renewability. Photovoltaics play a key role in generating of electricity from solar energy. Injection of electrical energy obtained from the photovoltaic system to the grid has earned widespread acceptance in these days of renewable energy generation and distribution. As a result, grid connected inverters developed considerably and varied widely. With the development of inverters performance, size, weight, reliability andcost considerably improve. For systems including inverters grid connected the low total harmonic distortion of the currents injected into the grid, maximum power point tracking, high efficiency, and controlled power injected into the grid is required. In this review paper, all aspects covering standards and specifications of single phase grid connected inverter, summary of inverter types and configurations of the grid connected PV inverter topologies are presented.
