VoIP Quality of Service: Pure-LTE vs. LTE-Wi-Fi Networks

Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) services provide voice call over the Internet connection. The real-time nature of VoIP services demands a careful design and configuration of the internal structure of the underlying networks over which the VoIP calls are exchanged which directly affect the overall performance of the entire voice sessions. This work investigates the quality of VoIP services over two different underlying networks as Pure-LTE and hybrid LTE-Wi-Fi for the call parties. Two different network topologies with different scenarios are designed and implemented to evaluate the quality of the voice calls by measuring the real-time metrics such as mean opinion score (MOS) and E2E latency.
