Abstract:

Background and Aim: Nurses constitute the main part of the human resources of the health system and And one of the pillars of optimal care in the hospital And the quality of their services can be affected by destructive factors such as job burnout and lead to increased absenteeism, energy degradation and quality deterioration. Job burnout is one of the effective factors in reducing the quality of employees performance. This disorder is seen among the staff of various types of occupations, such as social workers, physicians, police, nurses, midwives, and such occupations. The aim of this study was to determine the status of job burnout and its related factors in the nurses of Imam Khomeini medical education Center in Ilam in 2018.Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, 215 nursing staff participated in the study in Imam Khomeini Hospital in Ilam. The data were collected by a questionnaire including questions on demographic characteristics and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Data using statistical software SPSS-23 and Chi-square tests and p <0/05 level of significance was analyzed.Results: From the dimensions of job burnout, emotional exhaustion was low in 25.5% of subjects, 33.3% were moderate and 41.2% were moderate to high. In the case of individual failure, 71.5% of cases were low, 6.9% moderate and 21.6% of cases were moderate to high. In the depersonalization aspect, 39.6% were low, 25.8% were moderate and 34.6% were medium to high. There was a significant relationship between Marital status and emotional exhaustion (0.05), Sufficiency and Marital status (0.003), Shift work and sufficiency (0.001), Shift work and emotional exhaustion (0.001), Education and depersonalization (0.001), Shift work and depersonalization (0.001), Education and Sufficiency (0.05), Depersonalization and recruitment (0.05), Age and Sufficiency (0.05), Work experience and depersonalization (0.005) and work experience with adequacy (0.001).Conclusion: Regarding the physical, psychological and social problems caused by job burnout, all researchers emphasize on prevention methods. Therefore, the creation of strong supportive systems in the workplace and outside it is an effective way to prevent job burnout. Also attention to the development of interpersonal relationships and control and change in factors such as hours and shift work, can reduce emotional exhaustion and increase the level of progress and personal development of the staff.
