Interaction of Pile-Soil-Pile in Battered Pile Groups under Statically Lateral Load

Battered pile foundations usually are used for improving the deformation characteristics of pile foundations subjected to lateral loads. The aim of this research is to develope a simple and acceptable method enabling users to calculate the interaction factors of a battered pile group under statically lateral loads. For this purpose, the governing differential equations have been derived by using one dimensional continuous model. In this modeling, Winkler’s method has been used in which the reaction of soil against pile deformation is modeled by the springs along the pile length. The closed form solutions of governing equations have been obtained using appropriate boundary conditions. The results are compared with other methods and the parametric study of interaction factor is performed.
