Abstract:

Introduction: Warthin tumor is the second common tumor of the parotid gland. It presents as a slowly growing, painless mass in the parotid. However, it can arise in cervical lymph nodes without concurrent salivary gland equivalent. Case Presentation: A twenty-seven-year-old female presented with a one-year history of a non-tender swelling in the right side of her neck. She had no fever, weight loss, or dysphasia. Fine needle aspiration cytology of the mass reported involvement of lymph node by an epithelioid tumor, probably metastasis. Clinical examination and Imaging did not reveal a mass. The patient underwent lymphadenectomy and pathological examination revealed primary Warthin tumor in the jugulodigastric lymph nodes. The clinical exam and sonographic imaging did not reveal any lesion in salivary glands. Conclusion:Diagnosis of extra-parotid Warthin tumors, especially in lymph nodes can be problematic.
