Study of Physical Adsorption of Hydrogen on Finite Carbon Nanotube Bundles Using Molecular Dynamics Simulation

We use the molecular dynamics simulation to study the physical adsorption of hydrogen molecules on the finite single walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) bundles. We examine the effects of temperature, gas compression, and nanotube diameter on the hydrogen adsorption phenomenon. The results are shown as functions of distance from nanotubes. Results show that the carbon nanotubes cannot cause a useful increase in hydrogenstorage capacity, unless at the low temperature
