خلاصه مقاله:
Background: skin provides barrier protection and contributes homeostasis. Non-healing wounds interfere with skin functions and may lead to infection, sepsis, and in severe cases death. Therefore it is vital to promote the quality of healing process. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are a population of stromal cells derived from numerous tissues which provide an abundant source of cells for skin tissue engineering, because of their multi-lineage differentiation capabilities. Search method: This systematic review conducted through the search in the authoritative databases (PubMed, science direct, Google scholar, Scopus) with the keywords (mesenchymal stem cell, MSC, skin, wound healing) from 2014 to 2019. After searching the bases, 79 articles in English were obtained and after reviewing the abstracts, 32 related articles were identified. After studying the full text, 29 articles met the criteria. Results: studies have demonstrated that MSCs can exert the regenerative efficacy in the wound healing due to their secretion of endogenous factors such as vascular endothelial growth factor and prostaglandin E2, which promote angiogenesis and stimulate wound repair. Conclusion: intravenous or intradermal administration of MSCs enhance cutaneous wound healing.
