Abstract:

Salpr-type ligands (R–CH=N–(CH2)2–N=CH–R) and their metal complexes have been extensively investigated in modern coordination chemistry for several decades [1,2]. In this study, we design, synthesis and characterize of two new complexes of Co(II) (1) and Zn(II) (2) with H2L by elemental analysis, FT-IR spectra, UV-Vis spectra and X-ray crystallography. The X-ray crystal structures of the complexes 1 and 2 contain four and two metal ions, respectively, which are inter-connected through μ-phenolato and μ-acetato bridges. The crystal structures of the complexes are shown in Fig. 1.
