Abstract:
In this article, the growth of Pennyroyal in Aquaponics system is investigated. Aquaponics is a combination of fish and plant breeding in circulatory systems. Fish breeding in closed systems by water recycling causes the accumulation of organic waste in the growth medium. If these metabolic materials become the plant nutrition, not only they are not superfluous, but also economically valuable and beneficial to the fish breeding system. Due to the simultaneity of aquatic and plant growth in the designed system, it is possible to grow Pennyroyal in a low-cost and accessible environment known as the Pumice by removing soil, chemical fertilizers and various pesticides.In this research, the LED light with a special wavelength is used as the alternative of sunlight for optimum photomorphogenesis. Due to its valuable medicinal properties, pennyroyal has been used in the Aquaponics system to evaluate the growth response of the Oregano sprout and has shown positive results of the growth and germination of the intended plant.
