Investigation of Social Costs and Environmental Issues of Types of Power Plants and their Impact on Energy Sector Decisions in Iran

Comfort and comfort of a person need energy and, in order to achieve this, he has brought him to the maximum use of fossil fuels. Today, many studies have been conducted on the conservation of fossil fuels as a finite resource, and on the other hand, control of their environmental problems and problems. In this paper, the energy situation in Iran and the social costs and environmental problems caused by power plants have been investigated. The social costs of generating electricity are, in fact, the display of social injustices that come into society and the environment. Hazardous gases in power plants such as NOx, SO2 and CO2 are examples of negative externalities or external costs that affect the environment quickly and do not consider power generation companies. In this paper, it has been tried to estimate the total cost of electricity generation with and without consideration of new energies in Iran, taking into account the social costs of electricity generation. The results clearly show the economic and social benefits of using new energies in electricity generation
