Family involvement in quality improvement in NICU: benefits and barriers

Very preterm population with improvement of technology in ventilation, incubators, Nursing care is increasing and their gestational age is decreasing so their residency in NICU ward is increasing. Developmental approach during care has improved quality outcomes of these neonates that is accompanied with mother and fathers participant. Family support benefits: Parents can participate in medical decision and can help nursing staff in monitoring vital signs, feeding the baby, changing their babies nappy, recognizing unwanted signs and report to the doctor, improve sleep and awake cycles and effective interaction with her baby
