Abstract:

Background:Evidence shows than an estimated one billion women have experienced menopause worldwide.self-efficacy is the individual’s belief about his/her abilities of organizing and controlling actions leading to achieving the specified level of performance. The present study attempted to determine the effect of family-centered empowerment model on self efficacy in menopausal women Methods: This research was a clinical trial study, including pre and post tests with a control group performed on 80 menopausal women in Isfahan In 2017. For the experimental group, the family-centered empowerment model was done in 8 sessions. The control group received only common care. Results: In this study, both control and experimental groups were homogeneous with demographic information. Before the intervention self efficacy both groups were the same; However, before and after the intervention, a significant difference was observed in the experimental group in self efficacy (P = 0.000).Conclusion: Based on the research findings, the family-centered empowerment model seems to be practical and feasible for the menopausal women, and it can be helpful self-efficacy Message for policymakers: The development and introduction of psychological interventions aimed at improving self efficacy during menopause could provide a means of promoting preventative health practices that may contribute to healthy ageing in future years as women progress to older age.
