Abstract:
The aim of this research is determining role of virtual social network on key skills of Mazandaran university students. Methodology of this research according to goal is functional, and the method used is survey. The Population of the study consist of all Mazandaran university student in the academic year 2016-2017 that were the member virtual social networks. We chose 373 students by using cluster sampling. The instrument for data collection included two questionnaires, one on virtual social network (validity: .80) and the other on core competence (validity: .86). Questionnaire content validity after confirmation professors and its experimental implementation to confirm by CVR formula.The research results showed that student social network structure hasn t significant correlation to their skills. There is negative correlation between rate of using social network by student and their skills, but rate of activities and type of using social network have positive and significant correlation to students skills. On the other hand, virtual social network has the most correlation to the interpersonal skill, and the least correlation to student individual skill.
