Abstract:

In recent years, combination of Magnetorheological (MR) dampers and base isolation received special attention as hybrid-control devices for mitigation of structural vibrations. Wide researches have focused on the Performance of this hybrid control system on shear structures. However, Limited reserches has been done in order to apply of this system in the framework of the space frame structures. In order to investigate the performance of aforesaid hybrid-control system on space frame structures, MR dampers consider as a semi-active devices in which the voltage is updated by a feedback control loop, in participate with elastomeric bearing isolation system. In this application, develop a program in MATLAB to model all memebers as 3d element. In this research we just considered MR damper forces in model. The governing equations are solved by Newmark s family direct integration method. firstly performance of program is written in MATLAB examine by SAP2000 for space frame without MR dampers, afterwards, behavior of MR dampers checked out by Previous researches. Eventually, three symmetric structures evaluated when considered hybrid control system is implemented in space frame structures. The results indicate that MR dampers incorporation with elastomeric bearing as a unit hybrid control system has desirable performance.
