Abstract:

Some Iranians prefer complementary and alternative therapies for a veriaty of reasons. These therapies are most popular among women and specially in menopause period. This study focused on Persian Medicine and its theories to management menopause complications with herbal medicine.Menopause with mood disturbances, hot flash, vaginal dryness, skin atrophy, sleep disturbances in about 50 percent of women’s lives is a most common cause of women’s complaints in Persian medicine clinics. Persian medicine from temperament of point view approach to these complaints and try to manage them with food and herbal drugs.This study is a librarian research on available and reliable textbooks of Persian medicine with Medline and Pap Med database. We studied Canon in medicine, Altasrif, Kholase al Hekmat, Teb Akbari, Alhavi and Zakhireh Kharazmshahi with Tams and Ehtebas Tams keywords.Persian medicine is popular nowadays among people. Individual trials suggest benefits from certain therapies, but data are insufficient to support the effectiveness of Persian medicine theories. These therapies need to be approved with trials before they will be common to management hotflash, vaginal dryness, mood disturbances, and skin atrophy.
