Abstract:

Introduction: Aging is an evolutionary stage and one of the most important stages of every human life. One of the most important goals public health, is to reduce age-related disability in the elderly, physical activity and exercise are some of the methods that can be used to prevent, delay or treating problems the aging process.The purpose of this study was to review the impact of exercise on the health of older women.Methods: The present study is a systematic review study carried out from 2008-2019 years. Search for valid internal databases (SID, Magiran) with keywords (exercise, elderly, women, the health) and valid external databases (PubMed, google scholar, BMJ) with keywords (effect, exercise, elderly, the health) done.Results: After searching the databases, 150 articles were obtained, and after studding the abstract, 53 articles, were identified. After reading the full text, 28 articles, eligibility criteria were included in the study were 6 articles which were in English and 22 articles in Farsi. The results showed that exercise and aerobic exercise activities had a significant impact on preventing the improvement and health of middle-aged and elderly women.Conclusion: can be said using the results, exercise, aerobic and motor training, have a significant impact on the physical and mental health of middle-aged and older women.
