RESEARCH ON RELATIONSHIP AMONG INTERNET-ADDICTION, PERSONALITY TRAITS, AND PHYSICAL HEALTH IN CHILDREN: A REVIEW ARTICLE

Background and Aim : : In recent decades there has been increasing interest in internet use among children worldwide. Without appropriate guidance on internet use, they easily fall victim to the internet. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of internet among personality traits and physical health in children.Methods : The present article is a review article. We searched published articles between 2015 and 2019 in scientific databases of Scopus, PubMed, Google scholar ,science direct and Elsevier and Sid by using the keywords such as internet-addiction, personality traits, physical health and children.Results : Findings indicate that individuals who initiate internet use at younger ages exhibit an increased risk for general internet addiction. Internet addiction also exerts impact on physical health. using internet for a long time increases dyspepsia, nausea, anorexia, loss of weight, fatigue, sleep disturbance and decrease physical activity. also Some studies have shown that children who feel shy and lonely are more likely to use the internet. Because they have less friends and poor social relationships.Conclusion : studies showed that how the internet can have harmful effects on physical health and psychological traits in children. Therefore internet-addiction can have a lot of harmful effects on personality traits and physical health in children.
