Abstract:

Background and Aim : Most people suppose that the drug addiction and its detriment are mainly masculine and women are less likely to turn into it. However, this phenomenon involves many women, and since the consequences of women s addiction to society can be much more disadvantageous than the consequences of men s addiction, research in this regard is necessary. Purpose of the study: Due to high prevalence of addiction in the country and its related problems, addiction is one of the few health priorities of the country. This study aimed to investigate the underlying causes of addiction among women. Methods : This research is a qualitative research. The statistical population of this study was women who referred to treatment centers of Yasuj and Gachsaran for treatment of addiction. The simple random sampling method were used in this study and the research tool were interviews and semi-structured questionnaires. When the replies to the questionnaire and the interviews were repeated (saturation of responses), the information was gathered. Finally, a questionnaire and interview were taken from 20 people. By analyzing the content and classification of the information, a new questionnaire was developed and then 34 female consumers who referred to outpatient centers in Yasuj were selected as the research sample. Results : After analyzing the data using the Spss software, the main reasons for using drugs by women were addict husbands, loneliness and lack of attention, relationship with the opposite sex, and having addict friendsConclusion : Furthermore The main reasons for using drugs by women were addict husbands, loneliness and lack of attention, relationship with the opposite sex, and having addict friends. The main reasons for the continued use of the drug were consumption of the drug by the spouse, forced consumption, connection with the opposite sex and pleasure, and in the people who have had a history of treatment, the main reasons for their treatment failure were the use of the drug by the spouse, relationship with their addict friends, loneliness, and the lack of affection and attention in the family
