Abstract:

Background and Aim : : In some people with opiate dependence, there is another psychiatric diagnosis. Suicide in these people is usually seen with social incompatibility during the period of addiction. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of Suicidal, Death and Death Behaviors in Opiate Substance Abuse and Non-Addicted Persons Using Addictive Substances in Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences in Ahvaz in 1397Methods : : The study was a descriptive cross-sectional study with a retrospective strategy. The community of this study consisted of opiate addicts who had suicidal behavior. The instrument was the suicidal behavior questionnaire (SBQ) of the Ministry of Health. Data analysis was done using descriptive statistics method.Results : 144 Findings : cases of suicidal ideation due to addictive behavior and the use of addictive substances in non-addicted people in 1397 were reported based on the statistics of health centers in the sub-district (20 centers). Of these, 138 were reported and 6 died. The rate of suicidal behavior among opiate addicts was 1% per 100,000. Meanwhile, the majority of subjects were male (81%), the age group of 34 to 25 years old (72%), single subjects (65%), suicidal attempts (41%), and addiction (35%) access to materials they hadConclusion : :The results of this study could be used by social and health authorities to identify factors that could provide effective preventive policies and more attention to family education programs, as well as treatment and reduction of drug-related harm at the social level
