Background and Aim : High-risk behaviors refer to behaviors endangering the health and physical, psychological, and social life of individuals and society; and adolescence is one of the sensitive periods of growth. The present study is aimed at comparing the high-risk behaviors among male and female students in Mashhad city.Methods : This is a comparative study aimed at surveying male and female students at secondary high school in Mashhad city. The statistical sample includes 300 students (150 male and 150 female) selected using simple random sampling method. They are investigated with the Iranian Adolescents Risk-taking Scale (IARS) and data are analyzed by t-test.Results : The results revealed that a significant difference between the two groups of male and female students in tendency to alcohol, smoking, drug use and high-risk driving (P < 0.05). Nevertheless, there was no significant difference between the two groups of male and female students for tendency to violence, relation to the opposite sex and sexual relationship and behavior. (P < 0.05)Conclusion : It can be concluded that among the high-risk behaviors, there is a difference between the two groups of students (male and female) for the tendency to high-risk driving, drug use and violence, the tendency to alcohol and smoking
