EVALUATION OF PRESCHOOL PREVENTION PROGRAM AGAINST SUBSTANCE ABUSE IN EAST AZARBAIJAN PROVINCE

Background and Aim : One of the prevention methods is to inform people about the negative consequences of drugs, which leads to a change in the attitude of people from positive to negative about drug abuse. In the programs for preventing addiction in schools and kindergartens, educational activities have a main role in which trainer learned how to prevent themselves of substance abuse. The present study aims to determine the effectiveness of Preschool Prevention Program against Substance Abuse in East Azarbaijan Province in 1397.Methods : This is a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest (single-group). Statistical sample was all of the parents of preschool children in 20 kindergarten in East Azarbaijan Province . The experimental group was tested before and after intervention (6 sessions of two hours, the training package was developed by the welfare organization). The data were analyzed by pre-test and post-test checklist. Data were analyzed by dependent t test.Results : The Results showed that, the average of post test in social relations and family environment had a meaningful increase (p<0.05). Conclusion : The implementation of this plan will improve the attitudes of the families, and modification of attitudes is one of the well-known prevention strategies. Of addiction.
