Abstract:
Background and Aim : High school students are at risk of smoking at the puberty period, and given that smoking is a predictor of addiction, also the aim of this study was to survey Attitude towards Smoking in Secondary school students. Methods : The research method was cross-sectiona study. A sample of 240 students (140 males, 100 females) were selected by cluster sampling as a sample and completed Gholami Kia i s (2018)attitude toward smoking questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS software.Results : The results showed that the attitude toward smoking was less than the mean; therefore, the attitude toward smoking was negative and unfavorable. There was a significant difference between the attitude toward smoking in male and female students (p <0.05) and male students had a more positive attitude toward smoking. also, %57.9 of students had family members of smokers. Conclusion : According the results, it can be said that by the awareness-raising programs about the negative consequences of smoking, be created a negative attitude toward cigarettes to move away from smoking tendency in students
