Abstract:

Background and Aim : Mental health and social support have been associated with many behaviors and disorders as both individual and social factors. The aim of this research was to predict addiction preparation based on mental health and social support. Methods : The research method was correlational design and the statistical population was all high school students of Ardakan city that 251 student of them were selected through random sampling as the research sample and answered to Zargar Iranian Addiction preparation Scale, Symptom Check List-25 and Philips Social Support Questionnaire. Then data was analyzed by Pearson correlation and multivariate regression. Results : The findings of this research showed that there was a significant positive correlation between mental health and addiction preparation (r= 0.37, p≤0.01), and social support has a significant negative correlation with the addiction preparation (r= -0.27, P≤0.01). In total, these variables were able to explain 16 percent of variance of dependent variable. Conclusion : In general, the results of the research indicated that mental health and social support play an important role in the people s addiction preparation. High mental health and social support, reduce the addiction preparation.
