Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive-emotional self-regulating skills training on the resilience and craving for methamphetamine in men. Battling addiction. Methods : The research was a semi-experimental type with pretest-posttest design containing a control group. The statistical population included all men trying to quit methamphetamine in Imam Hussein Hospital in Kermanshah. 30 people were selected randomly by available sampling method. They divided in 15-member groups, one experimental group and one control group. Data collection tools consisted of a resilience questionnaire (Connor and Davidson, 2003) and a craving for consumption questionnaire (Beck et al., 1991). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multivariate covariance analysis. Results : The results for post-test showed that there was a significant difference between the mean values of resiliency and the components of the concept of individual competence, trust in instincts, acceptance of change, control and spirituality in the experimental and control group (P <0.005). Also, the results showed that there was a significant difference in the craving for substance consumption between two groups (P <0.005).Conclusion : It is suggested that emotional training to be applied alone or in combination with other commonly used therapies to improve resilience and reduce drug reuse.
