Abstract:

Background and Aim : The aim of current research is to investigate the effectiveness of therapeutic meaning education on psychological well-being in Addicted Husband Women.Methods : The research method is semi-experimental and the pretest- posttest design with control group was used. 40 ones were selected based on available sampling method and were placement using random sampling method in two experimental and control groups. The criteria for choosing a sample were women whose husband had a history of addiction and attending meetings of anonymous addicts. The experimental group participated in 8 sessions of meaning therapy and control group received no intervention. These sessions include: expressing goals, assigning assignments, explaining suffering as one of the components of meaning therapy, teaching altarpieces to anonymous addicts and group discussion, teaching meaning as one of the components of meaning therapy, teaching the characteristics of meaningful people to narcotic anonymous and ultimately the conclusion. The gathered data by Psychological well-being scale were analyzed by analysis of covariance.Results : The results show that there exist significant differences between the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group and meaning therapy could significantly increase psychological well-being in Women. Conclusion : In the first months after treatment, addiction as a chronic disease is likely to be highly skewed and is a critical period in this regard. Because the components of the meaning of cure directly involve one s being and the existential processes, the treatment will be difficult and prolonged, but because of its depth and richness it is stable. In meaning therapy, the person looks at the process of change consciously. Therefore, considering this model of treatment in addiction is necessary.
