Background and Aim : Addiction is a chronic disease characterized by the search and use of drugs and the problem of controlling their consumption, despite its harmful consequences. Drug addicts have fewer responses to normal inhibition. Heroin dependence destroys the function of the forehead and prefrontal cortex, resulting in disturbances in various executive functions such as inhibition of response, mental flexibility, organization, emotional self-regulation, attention and memory. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of computer cognitive rehabilitation on improving the inhibition of the response of people with heroin abuse.Methods : This study was semi-experimental with pre-test and post-test. The population included men with heroin abuse in Kermanshah city. Of them, 28 were selected and randomly divided into control and experimental groups. The research tool included Go / no go software to measure response inhibition. Captain s Log Cognitive Rehabilitation Program was conducted for 15 sessions of 60-60 minutes twice a week for the experimental group.Results : Covariance analysis showed that computer cognitive rehab was effective in improving the inhibition of these people s response (P <0.001).Conclusion : Injection inhibits the response and causes the addict to consume more substances and, if it is inclined, can not reduce their intake. In DSM-5, the lack of inhibition of response is suggested as a criterion for drug abuse. Therefore, considering the effectiveness of this method, cognitive rehabilitation can be used to reduce the likelihood of recurrence of addiction in these individuals.
