Abstract:

purpose to restore the structure immediately after strong earthquakes. Rocking wall system with replaceable dissipater devices is a kind of earthquake resilient structure. Previous studies about rocking wall were mostly focused on single rocking wall without considering of the surrounding frame. However due to rocking mechanism some local damages may be occurred in the surrounding frame. In this paper an infill rocking wall-frame system is proposed. This system consists of the rocking precast concrete wall panels which are connected to a steel frame with using unbonded post-tensioned tendons. Also supplementary dissipation dampers are attached to the vertical joints of wall panels. Numerical models are conducted to evaluate the cyclic performance of proposed system. Numerical results reveal that proposed system has a flag-shaped hysteretic behavior representing self-centering ability and enough energy dissipation.
