Abstract:

This research has been conducted with the aim of collecting traits of character and discovering the structure of personality taken from the Islamic resources. For this, about 25,000 words were taken from the Islamic resources (Holy Qur an, narrations, and Islamic ethics books), and a 103-word list of traits, based on the views of experts in Islamic sources was provided after removing repetitive, ambiguous and terms related to biological aspects, religious practices and transient feelings. In the next stage, the semantic relations between the words were studied for the Hyponymy, synonymy, and semantic opposition using two methods of component analysis and constructive semantics; as a result, synonyms and antonyms, general and specific, main and secondary, convergent and divergent, and single-focal And the multi-focal words were distinguished from one another. The results of this stage of the survey showed that there are some synonyms and antonyms for the traits of character; also since sometimes two opposite traits are in the same fields of semantics, then considered the same. Finally, all 103 phrases collected in the previous stage were classified into 15 lexical fields. Also, we tried to distinguish the focal and basic traits from the peripheral traits in each field. Finally, the results of the qualitative research using the method of linguistic semantics and conceptual correlations of words led to the identification of 15 traits of character as the main factors of personality in the qualitative research: deliberation, moderation, self-esteem, good temper, self-respect, flexibility, commitment, happiness, hard-working, chastity, stability, brilliance, humility, devotion to relatives and loyalty.
