خلاصه مقاله:
Millions of people around the world die because of cancer. However, early prevention and diagnosis can prevent the progression of the disease. Cancer cells released from the tumor that enter the bloodstream are known as circulating Tumor cells (CTCs). Detection and analysis of these cells can provide important information to prevent the metastasis of cancer. Therefore, researchers are trying to find a way to optimal isolation of these cancer cells. Nowadays, several methods for the separation of circulating Tumor cells are used. In this study, OpenFOAM was used to simulate the sheathless focusing and separation of white blood cells from prostate cancer cells utilizing standing surface acoustic waves (SSAW) and traveling surface acoustic waves (TSAW). At the first stage, the cells are focused on the channel centerline using standing surface acoustic waves. Then, at the second stage, with the help of traveling surface acoustic waves, the white blood cells are directed to the opposite side, and the two cells are separated by 100% efficiency.
