خلاصه مقاله:
Background: Burns are still recognized as one of the most destructive conditions in emergency medicine concerning both genders and all age groups in developed and developing countries. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a common encapsulated, Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium that cause nosocomial infections. In topical burn therapy, SSD (Silver Sulfadiazine) was submitted as the gold standard having antibacterial properties too. Recently, because of quickening the healing process and sharp reduction of side effects of treatment, herbal and natural compounds are used to treat burn wound infections. Licorice is the root of Glycyrrhiza glabra from which a sweet flavor can be obtained. Scrophularia striata is a plant of Snapdragon with the scientific name of Scrophularia striata Boiss that has traditional therapeutic usage. Curcumin is a chemical gathered from the bright yellow-colored plant Curcuma longa and Honey is a sweet, viscous food substance produced by bees. All of the materials mentioned in the text have proven antibacterial properties.Hence, the goal of this article is Comparision The Healing Effect of Licorice, Scrophularia Striata, Curcumin and Honey on Pseudomonas aeruginosa Infected Burn Wounds in Experimental Rat Model in comparison with silver sulfadiazine (SSD).Method: This article is a review study by reviewing articles from databases and scientific websites including: Magiran, SID, PubMed Google Scholar, scince direct, and Scopus whit keywords wounds, healing effect, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.Result: Wound healing was significantly higher in the Scrophularia Striata, honey and curcumin groups compared to the SSD group. Administration of S., honey, and curcumin reduced the size of burn wounds and decreased inflammation. In contrast, licorice extract was not effective in the treatment of burn wounds contaminated with seudomonas aeruginosaConclusion: Based on this experiment, Scrophularia Striata, Curcumin and Honey are a viable alternative in healing burn wounds contaminated with P. Aeruoginosa. And they have antibacterial and wound healing effects while this effect was significantly more than SSD. However clinically use of these natural products requires more supportive tests.
