Abstract:

The residue of pesticides in food can be hazardous to the health of consumers. In order to determine the amount of Iprodion in traditional carrot juice samples in Tabriz, 50 carrot juice samples were collected randomly from March to June 2018 from juice supply centers. The rate of Iprodion was determined by high performance liquid chromatography in Biochemistry Lab of Kharazmi University. The results showed that 94% of samples were contaminated with Iprodion pesticides. The average concentration of pesticide was 0.76 ± 0.06 mg/l of carrot juice samples. Given that in most agricultural products the allowed limit is 5 mg per liter, the above quantities are less than the pesticide allowed limit but the high percentage of contamination of the samples can be dangerous for consumers in the long time.
