Abstract:

Researchers believe that disorder in function of plays of astrocyte cells an important role in the development of Multiple Sclerosis.Astrocytes.these cells are one of the major antigen-presenting cells in the nervous system that play multiple roles. (i) as part of the innate immune system, (ii) as a source of cytotoxic agents, (iii) inhibiting remyelination and axonal regeneration by formation of a glial lesion, and (iv) contributing to axonal mitochondrial dysfunction. These cells are the most abundant types of glia cells, they are much larger than the neurons in a ratio of 10: 1.In this study, the astrocyte 1321N1 cells cultured in DMEM medium with 10% FBS serum. MTT and LDH levels were studied by the effect of crude venom and as well as fractions obtained from LPS-activated Sephadex G50 chromatography. The results show that 80 μg / ml Crude Scorpion Venom Kills More than 50% of astrocyte Cells. Concentrations less than, venom and its fractions showed no significant effect on MTT and LDH levels in astrocyte (control) and activated ( with LPS) cells. There was no change in the shape and morphology of the cells under the influence of venom and its fractions. So to be appear that concentrations less than LD50 of Mesobuthus epeus scorpion venom not lethal for astrocyte cells
