Abstract:
Background and purpose: Heavy metals are non-degradable pollutants that could accumulate in marine animals including fish.Today, environmental pollutions are of the most important issues and hazardous in food safety around the world. Given the importance of fish and water in dietary, and extracting them from Anzali Wetland, Iran, this study aimed to investigate the concentrations of heavy metals, as environmental pollutions, in fish and water of this wetland at different seasons.Materials and methods:This survey were conduct at summer of 2014 in order to determine the magnitude of heavy metals Pb, Cd,Ni and Cr in muscle tissues of tow fish species Abramis brana and Esox lucius collected from Anzali Wetland. The heavy metals were extracted by wet digestion methods nitric acid and perchrodric acid (HNO3/HCLO4) and determined Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (FAAS).Results: The results indicate that the average concentration of heavy metals Pb, Cd,Ni and Cr in the muscle tissues of Abramis brana were 0.678±0.15,0.352± 0.11, 0.451± 0.19 and 0.234±0.06 μgg-1d.w respectively and in the muscle tissue of Esox luscious were 1.99±0.24,0.421±0.18,0.762±0.24 and 0.368±0.07μgg-1d.w respectively. Conclusion: In summary, it could be concluded that the changes in the concentration of heay metals during by the changes in the inlet water and human activities, especially agricultures. In Esox lucios levels of four heavy metals were significantly higher compare to Abramis brana howere the concentration of heavy metals in both fish species were higher than allowable standards of WHO , UK(MAFF) , NHMRC and FDA. The results show that the pollution in the water of this region are because of these heavy elements.
