Abstract:

Background and Aim : Today, the dangers of ionizing radiation, including its human side effects,are not covered by anyone. Radiation accidents can be caused by natural or artificial springs, powerplant and refinery accidents, terrorist acts, etc., while polluting the environment, leading to varioussyndromes in living things, each of which can be discussed in its own right. However, in the eventof an accident, proper and timely management of the crisis is important in reducing stress and theresulting casualties. In this article, we review the actions taken to treat the damage caused bynuclear and radiation contamination.Methods : In this article, the results of researches, books and articles are reviewed.Results : Given the current state of fossil fuels such as oil and gas and the increasing tendency ofcountries to use nuclear energy, the health issues of potential casualties are of particularimportance. 1- Nurses awareness of this type of events and how to deal with it will play animportant role in reducing radiation consequences. Therefore, it is recommended to includenursing students curriculum in nursing students empowerment, as well as in continuing educationplanning for nursing staff. On the other hand, review the crisis education curriculum of nursingcolleges and update it with current organizational changes and developments. 2- Another importantpoint is to conduct exercises in response to the planned radiation crisis in the form of maneuversand other similar training operations, which require more attention from the authorities.Conclusion : Due to the increasing tendency for nuclear energy and the use of radionuclides inmedicine, ... it is recommended to design nuclear emergency centers to deal with the damagecaused by radiation accidents.
