Abstract:

Background and Aim : Primary lymphoma of cervix is rare and so could misdiagnosed most of the time.In the other hand there is no consensus on the best treatment and follow up strategy for this type of cervicalmalignancy. Present study aimed to present a primary cervical lymphoma which was misdiagnosed due toits confusing presentation and rarity.Methods : : A 41-year-old woman with complaint of abnormal vaginal discharge and dyspareunia whichwas treated as vaginitis for a long time, was referred to the oncology department of obstetrics andgynecology center, Beheshti Hospital, Isphahan, Iran in July 2013. Re-assessment was performed due tohigh suspicious of malignancy and at last after multidisciplinary consultation, diffuse large B-cell non-Hodgkin s lymphomas was diagnosed. The patient is now in good condition after 5years of completedtreatment.Results : Due to rarity of uterine cervix lymphoma, the possibility of this diagnosis could be missed if thereis no suspicious for this malignancy. High suspicious and rapid diagnosis by proper communicationbetween clinician and pathologist could lead to excellent prognosisConclusion : High suspicious and rapid diagnosis by proper communication between clinician andpathologist could lead to excellent prognosis.
