The Effect of age on Acoustic Dissimilation in Colloquial Persian

In the present article ten individuals participated in a study of dissimilated sounds in order to examine the effect of age on acoustic dissimilation in colloquial Persian. Participants included equal numbers of males and females and all of them have born in Tehran and only speak in standard Persian as their first language. Each individual articulated a set of Persian words including dissimilation. Statistically no significant differences were found for gender. These results suggest that there is not a significant relation between the acoustic basis of dissimilation in colloquial Persian on one hand, and the variable of age on the other
