Abstract:
E nergy is one of the important factors in wireless sensor networks. For further usage and to inncrease thhe network lifetime, researchhers are always loooking for ways which tend to reduce en ergy consumption. Clustering of sensor node s is one of the best ways that can significantly increase the netwo rk lifetim e. In this paper, using nodes weightin g based on the density and node’s energy that be used in W-LEACH algorithm, a new method is provided. In our method, the effects of weighting in the higher rounds have bee n decreased so that the nodes with inadequate densit y but higher energy in the hi gher rounds do gett a fair c hance to become a cluster-head. MATLAB simulation sh ows that the proposed methood increa ses the network lifetime compared to W -LEACH and others protoc ols.
