Dr. Rahmat Sotudeh-Gharebagh is a Professor of Process Engineering at the University of Tehran (UT) and was an invited Professor at Qatar and Canada. He has working knowledge and drafting skills in English and French, in addition to his native languages of Farsi and Azari. He has authored more than 275 papers, seven books and four chapters. Rahmat is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of CPPM, an international journal that showcases the latest innovations in modeling and simulation of chemical processes and products. He is also the Founder of Pharmaceutical Engineering Program in the country, the first interdisciplinary program that integrates engineering and pharmacy. Dr. Sotudeh is an executive science manager who has held several important positions. He was the 25th Dean of engineering and acting VP-research at UT, responsible for the development and improvement of education, applied research and technology. He was also the Director of Standard Research Institute with Iranian National Standardization Organization (member of ISO), where he developed and implemented national and international standards and promoted this institute to top five percent among national research institutions in four years. He is a member of the COMSATS Technical Advisory Committee providing technical advice to developing countries, an expert witness, a public speaker, a national and international consultant, the president, and a board member of various associations and the member of the Iranian academy of science. Dr. Sotudeh’s extraordinary contributions and legacy have been recognized through multiple prizes and awards. He received three prestigious prizes: Allamah Tabatabaei (2015), Alborz (2021) and APCHE (2016), and four UT distinguished awards for his excellence in research (2019), education (2023), and international collaborations (2015, 2022). He is also an active user of Linkedin, where he produces content and shares his knowledge and expertise with a wider audience. These demonstrate his decades of dedication, passion, and commitment to popularizing science. Dr. Sotudeh organized a memorial ceremony in honor of Eng. Mousavi-Rahpeyma, an outstanding UT alumni member who successfully applied his knowledge and science to create business, wealth, and well-being for society. He is a philanthropist and a role model who constructed and donated the Fouman Faculty of Engineering to the University of Tehran (youtu.be/ufydeKAYq0M).
