Abstract:

Objective: Nanoparticles include primary particles with at least one of their dimensions less than 100 nm.the seeds of Nigella sativa are used as herbal medicine all over the world for the treatment and prevention of a number of diseases and conditions like asthma, diarrhea and dyslipidemia. The aim of this study is to see the protective effect of Nigella sativa on testicular the first generation mice receiving titanium nanoparticles. Materials & Methods :This laboratory interventional study was done by 15 adult mice (NMRI) male and female, Two adult female mice with a male adult mice were placed in a cage for mating. Pregnant mice was randomly divided into 4 groups. From the 13th day of gestation, until the delivery, the mice were given nanoparticle titanium oxide (TNP) and Nigella sativa (NS). Mice were then sacrificed under the anesthesia for further experiments. The epididymal cauda of ,one of testis from each animal removed and used for take sperm for sperm parameter analysis , invitro fertilization (IVF) and invitro development (IVD) analysis. The another testis were fixed, embedded in paraffin, sectioned (5 μm) and stained with haematoxylin and eosin (H&E) for histopathology and Spermatogenesis. Spss version 19 were used for data collecting. Data were analyzed by Anova. Result : The normal thickness of germinal epithelium, Spermatogenesis and Sperm parameters was also seen in the Nigella sativa group, which showed no significant difference between the Nigella sativa group and the control group (p <0.01). In the titanium group, there is a degree of epithelial lysis and significant decrease in sperm motility was also seen (p <0.01).in all group NS has an ameliorating effect against TNP induced testicular germ cell damage in mice (p <0.01). Conclusion: In the present study, we have found that NS has an ameliorating effect against TNP induced testicular germ cell damage in mice.
