Abstract:

Study of filament wound and cylindrical composite structures under impact load has received extensive attention, but one area which has recently been the interest of scientific community is the effect of ballistic impact load on filament wound composite cylinders under pre-stress condition. Therefore, this paper tries to identify and use thenew special innovative apparatus, which is patented with number IRI-89054 as a protected invention, that has required accuracy and ability in order to create special attention to the types of preloads or loading history in laboratory and industrial studies, achieving more accurate recognition of cylindrical polymer structures or especially filament wound composite cylinders’ respond to applied internal loads and especially impact loading in order to insure of composite pressure-vessels and filament wound structure’s reliability during tolerated work conditions. So, this apparatus is designed such that the by applying hydrostatic pressure below yield point the structure simultaneously is impacted via a gas gun with a projectile, hence the structure under per-load can be assessed
