Abstract:

In this study, the cold backward extrusion process of polyamide has been investigated by means of finite element method. The numerical results have been highly corresponded to the experimental ones. In order to investigate the die parameters, the slop angle and radius of punch and container have been selected as die parameters and after that the design of experiment based on the Taguchi approach has been used to design simulation for realizing the effect of selected parameters on the extrusion load. ANOVA was performed on the simulations results and the radius of punch was obtained as the most effective die parameter in the process of cold backward extrusion of polyamide to reduce the process load. The influence percent of this parameter reported as 98%.
