Abstract:

piRNAs are an important category of non-coding RNAs that can be separated from mRNAs at 26 to 33 nucleotides (in mature form)[1]. One of the most important activities of this group of RNAs is to control transposons in the genome and maintain stability in order to control the number of TEs in the genome[2]. surprisingly, the TEs themselves have also been assigned a lot of useful tasks, which are mainly due to the evolution of the organisms. Among the most important activities of this group, mammalian splits, sexual reproduction in mammals[3],the establishment of a defense system[4] are noticeable. Due to the role of piRNA control over TEs, the formation of these behaviors and phenomena can not be unrelated to piRNAs. We focused our study on mitochondria as an organelle with independent genetic material (in an eukaryotic cell), looking for piRNAs found only in mitochondria. For this purpose, the data of 8438264 piRNA will be generated from the piRBase database. By matching this set on the mitochondrial genome using the 2bowtie tool and changing the minimum seed length size to 32 nucleotides, 40507 piRNA was obtained. Again, this number of piRNA was reused in the bowtie2 tool and the seed length...
