Abstract:

Abstract: Introduction: Breast examination by the individual is best, easiest and most cost-effective method for diagnosis of breast cancer that does not require expertise and equipment. This screening method can be effective on women s awareness of nurses working in cancer sectors. The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge and insight of nurses about breast self-examination in women with breast cancer risk.Methods: In this descriptive-Correlation study, the relationship between the knowledge and awareness of 154 nurses in the field of self-examination of breast cancer on the performance of 200 women in age range of breast cancer risk was measured using Knowledge and attitude test questionnaire for breast .Results: Work experience in specialized sections of cancer was directly related to the level of knowledge and insight of nurses and high levels of knowledge and insight of nurses had a significant relationship with the performance of women exposed to breast cancer (p = 0.003)Conclusion: Improving the knowledge level of nursing staff has a direct impact on women s performance in the field of self-examination of breast cancer and it is suggested that self-examination courses for breast cancer should be conducted for health personnel.
