Blind recursive weighted morphological filters

An account is given of some techniques for designingrecursive weighted morphological filters (RWMFs).The new operators are based on recursive designof the operators introduced in our previous researchcalled weighted mediated morphological filters (WMMFs) [1, 2]. Both WMMFs and RWMFsare nonlinear filters. However WMMFs are somehowsimilar to FIR (finite impulse response) linear filters,and RWMFs resemble IIR (infinite impulse response).In this paper we have proved that RWMFsillustrate a competitive performance in signal/imagedenoising with WMMFs. They are both superb insingle and multiple noise removal tasks, which makethem to be of salient interest for researchers in thearea of signal/image processing
