Abstract:

This paper shows the optimum Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) placement for full observability of the power system. Cuckoo Optimization Algorithm (COA) in MATLAB is used for this optimization and comparing results with other algorithms shows excellent efficient of this programming. IEEE 14, 30, 57, 118-bus and Tehran 41-bus regional electric power network are used as test systems.
