Foreign Suppliers Selection and Prioritization Using FUZZYTOPSSIS Model (Case Study: Tehran PAK Dairy Company)

The suppliers of an organization, as an element in supply chain, will play a significant role in the raw material input flow and the issue called raw material supply will exert direct impacton the companies' costs and profit making. Most of the studies performed on suppliers' selection and prioritization have been about the domestic suppliers of an organization. Thusin the present paper, efforts have been made to highlight the factors influencing the selectionof foreign suppliers and to prioritize the suppliers of the company as well. The issue as the selection of foreign suppliers on its own is set forth as a multi criteria decision makingproblem including qualitative and quantitative factors; for this, it has been best tried toprovide the computations as close to reality as possible and to include the expert decision makers' opinions in the computations .To achieve this goal, we have applied FUZZY Logic and FUZZYTOPSIS algorithm in FUZZY space to prioritize the suppliers
