Abstract:

In this paper, it is tried to utilize the principles of cultural tourism and adaptive reuse to provide solutions to recreate inefficient textures which have cultural and historical valuable elements. Tourism is considered as an integral part of the historical context of cities, such as central textures of Karaj. In this article, it is tried to present by using the principles of cultural tourism to regeneration inefficient texture and valuable elements of historical, cultural and religious urban life, with the tourism-cultural approach. The central texture of the historic cities has the potential of cultural attractions and facilities; in many years the ancient elements of city like Bazaar, mosque, caravanserai, etc. as a cultural and historical heritage were the story narrators of the historical development of the historic city. But, in modern life in this day and age, this dynamic relationship has been lost. Thus, using the potential of cultural tourism, it is possible to provide solutions for the actualization of this dynamic relationship and to actively regeneration of the context for environmental, social and economic sustainability. It also provides the opportunity for meeting, dialogue and exchange of ideas for the local community as well as tourists so that historical and cultural axis can be used as a legacy for sustainability purposes, used by residents and tourists. The theoretical basis of this research is relying on historical review of the study in one hand, and on the other hand, reviewing the documents related to historical textures of Karaj, in addition, principles used in this article are aimed to promote cultural tourism. Also, the final 3D models are designed according to these principles.
