Abstract:
In this work, a novel photocatalyst, reduced graphene oxide encapsulated Fe3O4–Pd magnetic nanohybrid was synthesized and characterized. Then, this magnetic catalyst showed high catalytic activity for the degradation of Congo red under visible light irradiation. Magnetic separation is an environmentally-friendly alternative method for the separation and recovery of catalysts, since it minimizes the use of solvents and auxiliary materials, reduces operation time, minimizes catalyst loss by preventing mass loss and oxidation. Also High yield, low reaction time and non-toxicity of the catalyst are the main merits of this protocol
